Nakhon Luang Cement is paving the way for a future of "a better environment and sustainable business growth" by promoting low carbon cement and concrete innovations for use in Thailand's real estate and construction industries. Through a collaborative model with partners, the company aims to reduce carbon footprints and is committed to engaging with partners, communities, society, and the environment, moving towards a goal of net-zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2030.

Mr. Montree Nithikul, CEO of Nakhon Luang Cement Public Company Limited (Insee Cement), revealed that the company is dedicated to continuously achieving its carbon footprint reduction goals to create sustainability in coexistence with communities, society, and stakeholders under the INSEE Sustainability Ambition 2030 framework. One of the strategies involves developing low carbon cement and concrete production technologies and collaborating with business partners to widely implement these materials, aiming to maximize carbon footprint reduction.

The strategy includes Green Products, continuously developing environmentally friendly products, with 11 types of “hydraulic cement” certified for quality and environmental friendliness with the EPD (Environmental Product Declaration) label, which is recognized by the International EPD® System under the Global Cement and Concrete Association (GCCA) standards. Additionally, the focus is on Green Energy, utilizing renewable energy sources in the cement production process, such as energy from waste or biomass, as well as implementing Green Innovations like technologies that reduce the amount of clinker used in cement production and lower carbon dioxide emissions. In the near future, there will be an increase in solar energy utilization and the introduction of EV vehicles in the company's operations.

Moreover, Nakhon Luang Cement has partnered with Pruksa Holding Public Company Limited, a leader in the real estate and construction sector, to use low carbon cement and concrete in the construction of over 327 sustainable living projects, successfully reducing greenhouse gas emissions by nearly 5 million kilograms of CO2 equivalent (kgCO2e), equivalent to planting over 524,483 trees.

“In addition to promoting the use of low carbon cement and concrete through community and societal awareness, Nakhon Luang Cement continues to push for the use of these products in housing construction projects by controlling the production of low carbon cement and investing in technology to make low carbon cement competitively priced with traditional cement. This allows users and consumers to recognize the objective of carbon reduction, marking another significant step towards achieving sustainability goals for the Nakhon Luang Cement group,” Mr. Montree stated.

Mr. Uthen Lohachitpitak, CEO of Pruksa Holding Public Company Limited, stated, “Pruksa is advancing its sustainable organizational development based on ESG (Environment, Social, Governance) principles, considering environmental impacts. Our projects choose to use Insee Cement, which is low carbon cement and concrete. Pruksa has implemented CarbonCure technology with Insee Cement, meeting Pruksa's quality standards and enhancing carbon reduction capabilities through joint efforts to develop low carbon products for consumers, allowing everyone to contribute to caring for and reducing environmental impacts. This is a significant step for Pruksa and Insee to collaborate and deliver positive outcomes for consumers and society.”

Hydraulic cement is one of the low carbon cement products from Insee, featuring high quality and modern production technology in accordance with the Thai Industrial Standards (TIS) 2594-2013, certified by the Greenhouse Gas Management Organization (Public Organization), aiming to reduce carbon dioxide emissions into the atmosphere. It boasts a carbon footprint value that emits more than 50 kilograms of carbon dioxide per ton of cement compared to conventional Portland cement, and can be used to calculate ratings for green building certifications both domestically and internationally.

Additionally, it is a cement product that has received a carbon footprint reduction label, indicating its capability to reduce carbon dioxide emissions in the atmosphere, contributing positively to long-term climate conditions and supporting Thailand's transition to a low carbon society, in line with the aspirations of Thailand and the international community.

For 55 years, Nakhon Luang Cement Group has produced and distributed environmentally conscious cement (Green product) using modern production technologies to meet the evolving demands of various industries, ensuring that business development and environmental sustainability can progress together towards clear goals of reducing carbon dioxide emissions from the company's products.
